Do a dairy fast
No milk, cheese, yogurt and such for the next 24 hours.This fast is quite easy for me, but may be difficult for others. I remember eating huge amount of wonderful cheeses of different varieties whenever visiting France. In fact if I remember, one single “provance” in France has more than five hundred and fifty different types of cheeses. As I’m writing this the fast becomes more difficult in my imagination – if only I was in Paris.
I am thinking that the food fasts may even help in discovering minor allergies. My guess is that one would need to stop taking a food category for longer than one day to show major changes. I’ll do some research on this issue and write about it later.
One thing that I have noticed that the difficult fasts are teaching me about life and spirituality as well as testing and improving my will power.
I now understand that I need not always drive like a maniac and also I can taste food before adding salt. In fact I don’t think I have actually poured much salt on my food in the last week or so. The extra salt I may get is in the food itself – like the hot sauce I had to not eat during the 24 hour no salt fast.
At the same time I am running out of ideas for more fasts. Please leave comments and give suggestions for fasting ideas.
