Every little bit helps
Yesterday, I got up at 4:00 a.m. and did a lot which I mentioned in my post. This morning I had set my alarm for 4:00 (actually it’s 3:45 since that alarm clock I have set fifteen minutes fast but then I go to bed fifteen minutes earlier too). Anyway the alarm went and I knew I did not feel like getting up. I was just too tired.
So I turned the clock off and woke up at six thirty and did my usual thing of smiling at my reflection when I was washing my face and thanking God for all the gifts and abundance in the universe (yes in spite of the economic downturn it is a very abundant universe). I quickly wrote a post in this blog and went to a prearranged meeting at eight. I have been busy until an hour ago doing some tasks which could not wait.
So then I could take a few minutes before getting back to my blogs and web sites. I could do nothing or go for a short walk and I chose the short walk. The point is that every little bit helps and it is always better to do a little than to be an all or nothing type of person. In my seminars I keep reminding the audience that if something is worth doing it is worth doing badly (at least badly at first and then improving). This is a much better attitude than the perfectionist way of, “if it’s worth doing it worth doing well.” This later attitude often stops us from starting since in the beginning it is difficult to do things and just jumping in the deep end allows us jump start our tasks and take action.
So I went for a short walk and when I returened I watered the plant for a short time. As I was walking I was thinking about this post and realized that a short post is better than none since every little bit helps….
