Great questions lead to great answer
You have heard of GIGO: Garbage in – Garbage out.
It’s true of computers and is true of humans individually as well as societies.
You have also heard, “Ask a silly question, get a silly answer.”
Now lets turn the above around to “Ask a great question and you’ll get a great answer.”
The human brain is among many other things an answering instrument – that’s to say it will answer any question with out worrying about if the question makes any sense or is true. So if you ask, “Why am I so stupid?” (a very stupid question to ask) your mind will search through your memories coming up with all the various times you have acted stupidly in the past (remember that we all act stupidly, unkindly, unlovingly at times – that does not make us stupid, unkind or unloving).
Now lets turn that question around to how can I act more wisely – immediately the question implies that you can act more wisely. Now you’ll get many apt answers teaching you how to act and hence be wiser.
If you ask why you are so unlucky you’ll feel depressed as you remember all the times you have been unlucky (even the luckiest person has been unlucky at times). If you ask the same question about being lucky, you’ll feel so lucky.
However, questions of how you can act better are a better class of questions to ask.
Here are some good questions to ask:
- What can I do at this moment to improve my life?
- What am I thankful for?
- Who do I love?
- Who loves me?
- How can I be more loving?
- Who can I forgive?
- Who do I need to ask forgiveness from?
The list of great positive questions is endless – you come up with some and leave comments with your questions.
