End the night on a positive note

Earlier I had written that you should begin the day on a positive note. It is just as important to end the night on a positive note.

The first thing in the morning and the last thing at night determine your attitude for the rest of the day.

And your attitude determines your success.

By success I mean whatever makes you happy. Basically success is whatever you think it is. For one person success may mean lots of money, for another fame, and yet another wants great relationships.

All these come from your attitude.

Your thoughts just before you go to sleep will affect your dreams and the quality of your sleep. When you end the night on a positive note, with a positive optimistic attitude you’ll sleep easily and happily. You’ll wake  up refreshed invigorated and raring to go.

Thus it will be easier to wake up with the same positive attitude – to start your day well. So you end uo in a positive cycle instead of a vicious cycle of going to bed after watching the news (never do that) and then worrying, insomnia, bad or little sleep and then waking up with a bad mood.

I think it is better not to watch any TV (unless it is a light comedy – no late night shows which can have many negative and sensational aspects as well as a few laughs) late at night.

What will help you to end the night on a positive note are things like:

• Mentally make a note of all the things you are thankful for.
• Review the day in a loving kind constructive way. As the I Ching says, “No blame.” Review with the object of how you could improve your life and what did you learn.
• Repeat the mantra (affirmation), “I like myself,” or “I approve of myself,” at least one hundred times.
• Give yourself a great big smile as you wash your face and do the rest of your night time toiletries.
• Tell your loved ones that you love them.
• Mentally send love to family, friends, strangers, and even or should I say specially those you do not approve of.
• Make love (only when both of you are in the mood).
