Reframe your luck
Posted Under: Success, peace of mind, peaceful life
This post was from six months ago but somehow was never published:
I just wrote a post about luck and preparation. I had to leave the room and when I came back, I noticed that one of our cats had thrown up. Since I did not see the event I assume that it was one of the cats who has a minor ailment with his digestive system.
Now my first reaction was to feel sorry for the poor cat. Then I had to clean up the throw up which is not the greatest fun. You only do it without complaining out of love. (This was before I thought of karma yoga and treating every task as a sacrament – but there’s more than one way of skinning as cat – pardon my pun).
Then I thought that the mess I was cleaning showed to me that this cat was still alive. This is a reframing of negative things. It is looking at a negative event in the best possible way.
Reframing is a technique which comes from NLP neuro-linguistic programing where you change the way you look at an event – in effect it’s like changing the frame of a picture to give it a new meaning.

And thank God, that cat is still alive. He still throws up at times but that proves he is still alive.
