It is impossible to feel depressed when one has the physiology (posture, breathing, facial gesture) of being happy.
As we have stressed, want a happy soul put on a happy face.When you smile, you automatically release endorphins in your brain and you feel happy. Laughing out loud is even better – and if you feel silly at that then laugh at that silly person. No that’s not right. Laugh with that silly person.
Again when you act confidently, you feel confident. In this case remember a time when you felt very confident, feel the feelings you had and take the posture you had when you felt very confident. Very soon your mood follows your body and you will be very confident.
When you practice this (smiling and being confident) say a key phrase of your choice to yourself. This is called an auditory anchor or trigger in NLP (neuro-linguistic programming). Soon the phrase alone will trigger the change of posture and the feelings of confidence. The phrase may be something like “I am number one,” or “Self-esteem now,” or “Relax confidently.”
So next time you feel in a state of a funk, stand up tall with your head erect, say your key phrase anchor affirmation and boost your self-esteem
