Start each day by reading an inspiring piece

Earlier I wrote a post about starting each day on a positive note. Here I suggest that one great way of starting your day (especially if it’s your Sabbath – remember that the different Abrahamic religions celebrate the Sabbath on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – I don’t know about the other religions and spiritual traditions) is to start the day by reading an inspiring piece.
If you practice a religion and are inspired by your spiritual books, you could read part of your Torah, Bible, Koran, Gita, Sutras and so on. If you do not practice any organized religion you could read other spiritually uplifting books.
On other days, you may start the day by reading a self improvement book or reading a post on this or other positive blog.
On thing you should avoid first thing in the morning and last thing at night is to watch the news. By definition when say one hundred and twenty people have died thanks to the swine flu it is news.
But the fact that more than seven billion people have not died of swine flu is not news. If you must watch TV news do it in the middle of day (longer than one hour away from becoming awake or going to sleep).
Since I often write posts on my many blogs first thing in the morning, I listen to uplifting audios. As I’m writing this, I’m listening to an audio by Napoleon Hill, the author of the seminal self help book, “Think and grow rich.”
