At times you try too hard – forgive yourself
There is a software that I’m eager to try out. It comes with a one dollar five day trial period and then you have to pay. I heard about it last night and I waited till this morning so the five days would give me a full five days of testing.
As it happened I woke up at 3:30 a.m. (I gave myself the intention of waking up early in the morning) and immediately I paid my single dollar and started the test.
Twelve hours later I noticed that the program had absolutely no result. Then I noticed that in my half sleep this morning I had a typo. I had typed an “I” instead of an “O” (next letter on the keyboard).
My first reaction was the realization that I had tried to hard. As they say “haste makes waste.” Then I was annoyed at myself. I had wasted twelve hours and there may not be enough time to test the program as the results do not show themselves for few days (it’s a search engine optimization program).
My next reaction was not to blame myself and beat myself. After all that would only make things worse. I went back over the day to notice what I had learned and am now running the program again. In fact I’m using the program a little better now since I did learn a little about its working.
So that is the attitude to have. To understand that there is no such thing as failure. Every experience is a learning opportunity.
Remember that sin in the original Greek of the New Testament meant missing the mark. So next time you miss the mark, forgive someone else who has missed the mark and then forgive yourself and do it better the next time.
